Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools at Lakota Middle School is seeking a Secondary Paraeducator to support Resource Support Programs for students with identified disabilities. The role is a 30-hour per week, school-year assignment under supervision of a certificated teacher.

Responsibilities include tutoring, assisting with instructional and behavioral programs, supervising students, planning with teachers, keeping records, and communicating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AA degree or 48 credits or 72 credits or paraeducator assessment test required.
• Proficient in spelling, math and grammar.
• Experience with reading instruction, remediation and assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or groups under the teacher's direction.
• Assist with instructional and behavioral programs.
• Supervise students and ensure safety.
• Plan daily/weekly with teachers and staff servicing the same students.
• Maintain records and communicate with parents/teachers.
