Job summary

St. Cloud School District 742 is seeking a Student Support Paraeducator to maintain an orderly and safe environment for students starting Fall 2026. This hourly position requires a High School diploma and Basic First Aid training within 3 months of hire.

The successful candidate will observe student behavior, keep administration informed of issues, and maintain records while following district policies. A comprehensive benefits package is offered to employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Job description

This position will begin Fall 2026.

TYPE OF POSITION

Hourly; 10-month

Work hours vary based on school assignment and student/program needs.

REPORTS TO

Building Principals, immediate supervisor.

SUPERVISION

None.

SALARY

$17.00/hr (starting salary for new hires)

Required

POSITION SUMMARY

The Student Support Paraeducator is responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe environment, ensuring students are engaging in appropriate activity and are not interfering with other students or district employees in the performance of their functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Maintain a Structured Environment

• Observe student behavior in structured and/or unstructured areas, inside and/or outside of building
• Keep administration informed of problems/concerns within areas of responsibility
• Follow all district and site procedures in regards to discipline

Reports/Records/Information

• Maintain assigned records
• Maintain confidentiality of student records
• Follow-up actions relating to assigned records
• Provide relevant information to staff upon requestOther duties as assigned

PHYSICAL FACTORS

• The ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; may be exposed to adverse weather
• Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
• Light Work: exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
