Job summary

The Student Support Paraeducator at St. Cloud Area School District 742 is a part-time, 10-month position located at 1321 University Dr SE, St Cloud, MN 56304. You will help maintain a safe, structured environment and support students during instructional and non-instructional times.

QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY

The Student Support Paraeducator is responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe environment by ensuring students are engaged in appropriate activities and are not interfering with other students or district employees in the performance of their responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Maintain a Structured Environment

• Observe student behavior in structured and/or unstructured areas, both inside and outside of the building
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment for students and staff
• Keep administration informed of problems and concerns within assigned areas of responsibility
• Follow all district and site procedures regarding student discipline

Reports, Records, and Information

• Maintain assigned records
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information
• Complete follow-up actions relating to assigned records
• Provide relevant information to staff upon request
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL FACTORS

• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; may be exposed to adverse weather
• Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
• Light Work: exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible force constantly to move objects
