Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a dedicated Paraeducator to support instructional staff at Joppatowne Elementary School. You will assist with instruction, help implement IEP/IFSP plans, collect data, and support student behavioral and personal care needs in both in-person and digital learning contexts.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred AA degree or 48 college credits and completion of Parapro/Foundations exams. Benefits and ten-month calendar are provided by HCPS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 48 college credits acceptable.
• Passing score on paraprofessional exams (ParaPro 455+ or equivalent).
• Foundations of Classroom Support and Instruction scores meet minimums.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students during instruction.
• Implement teacher lesson plans with individuals or small groups.
• Work under teacher direction to assist instruction.
• Assist with data collection, testing and student assessment.
• Assist with IEP/IFSP implementation for students with special needs.
• Monitor student behavior and implement behavioral strategies.
• Assist with personal care needs and lifting/transferring students as required.
• Prepare instructional materials for students.
• Support school-wide duties and supervise activities as needed.
• Participate in professional development and collaborate with staff.
