Job summary

Get Staffed Online Recruitment Limited is seeking a Classroom Support Assistant for an East Midlands school. You will work with Teachers to support students’ access to learning, promote inclusion and help pupils achieve their potential in a positive learning environment.

The role involves assisting with lesson objectives, maintaining high expectations, supporting SEND and disadvantaged students, and contributing to wider school life. Term-time hours and pro rata salary apply.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, flexible, able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team while using own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers to support students' access to learning across curriculum areas.
• Support students in understanding lesson objectives, instructions and activities and promote independence.
• Use questioning, prompting and scaffolding to help students think for themselves.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, perseverance, organisational skills and effective learning habits.
• Assist with preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Support students in the effective use of technology and specialist resources where appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
• Maintain high expectations of all students.
• Support students with SEND, disadvantaged students and others requiring additional support to access learning.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
