Job summary

Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public School (APR) in Hyde Park, MA seeks a Manager of Student Support to lead compliance and equity work for Special Education and Multilingual Learner programs. This role reports to the Managing Director of Student Support and collaborates with the Special Education and ELE teams.

The position is full-time, hybrid with campus presence in Hyde Park and one remote day per week, requiring highly organized, detail-oriented individuals with strong time management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching, coaching or managing in student support.
• Strong belief in high academic achievement for all students.
• Ability to manage time across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High emotional intelligence to build relationships across lines of difference.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and build scalable systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of Special Education and Multilingual Learner Compliance.
• Schedule and facilitate all special education and English language education meetings.
• Write all IEPs for annual, initial, and re-evaluation meetings.
• Collaborate with school based leadership teams, teachers and related service providers to ensure ELE compliance.
• Provide initial and annual notifications to families and keep ELE files up to date.
• Process referrals for and chair meetings; support development of IEPs including 14-year-old transitions.
• Plan and conduct Manifestation Determination Review Hearings as needed.
• Review IEP files for compliance with state and federal laws and internal procedures.
• Train school leaders on data management systems related to special populations.
• Coordinate, track, and monitor accommodations for assessments; ensure compliant service delivery.
