Job summary

Onslow County Public Schools is seeking a Student Monitor for New Bridge Middle to supervise students in various settings and support daily school operations. The role requires effective communication, ability to follow directions, and a strong focus on safety.

A high school diploma is required with a plan to pursue an AA degree; completion of the 24-hour ETTP course within the first year is expected. This is a 10-month position with a Pay Grade 53 salary.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred (math/reading/writing emphasis).
• ETTP 24-hour course within first year of employment.
• HS diploma required with commitment to enrolling in AA degree program.
• Ability to work with diverse student population including students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitors student behavior and enforces school rules in cafeteria, gym, hallways, and common areas.
• Supervises students arriving early or staying late due to transportation logistics.
• Supports school safety plan implementation.
• Assists with school safety drills.
• Implements prepared lesson plans when the regular teacher is unavailable.
• Maintains order and discipline fostering a safe environment per policies.
• Follows all school and county policies and guidelines.
• Remains at the school during the entire school day unless excused by the principal.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by school administrator(s).
