The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a Staff Assistant to provide student services and information on college programs under supervision. You will assist students with forms, guide resources, and help maintain records and calendars.
Work closely with faculty, staff, and community partners; support outreach campaigns, workshops, and recruitment efforts; perform general office duties and data entry.
Under general supervision of assigned manager/supervisor, serve asa staff assistant in providing student services and information oncollege programs.

Familiarize students to available resources, services and programs,individually or in groups; answer questions regarding assignedprogram requirements; present workshops on topics related to areaof assignment; assist students with completing related forms andreviewing for completion; interpret program regulations or benefitrequirements for assigned area, and assist students in obtainingneeded supportive services; serve as a resource person to studentsand staff on area of assignment; work in cooperation with campusfaculty, staff, other campus student resources, and relatedcommunity agencies to serve student needs and represent thecollege; assist with advertising the resources and programsprovided by area of assignment, such as bulletin announcements,newsletters, flyers, handouts, web pages, and other visualdisplays; assist with outreach efforts including visits tosecondary schools or community organizations; assist withcoordination and support of campaigns for recruitment, retentionand completion efforts; record and coordinate student documentationand maintain related records; assist with follow-up studies andactivities relating to the evaluation of services provided by theprogram; maintain confidential information and materials; performgeneral office duties such as filing, data entry, maintainingrecords, answering the phone, and making appointments; assist withthe development of the master calendar of events, and other relatedscheduling; order, review, catalog, inventory, maintain materials,and prepare and update lists of information and availableresources; create, modify, and maintain reports, records and formsused; attend appropriate conferences, workshops and staff meetingsas assigned; recruit, interview, hire, and train temporaryemployees, and assist with processing related timesheets; assistwith monitoring budget information, such as processing requisitionsand other related budget processes; perform related duties asassigned.
In addition to the Typical Duties noted above, duties for the belownoted areas of assignment include (the below list does nostrepresent all areas of assignment):
Review academic performance of student athletesand make appropriate referrals; assist in follow-up ofunsatisfactory reports, and complete eligibility unit checks.
Intake inquiries and refer students and publicto appropriate resources; assist with coordination and support ofcall campaigns for recruitment, retention and completion efforts;guide students to complete application process, academic programselection, additional enrollment processes, financial aidapplication, and college visits.
Research current labor market forcareer and transfer opportunities, with emphasis on college programareas; refer qualified students to employers or employment servicesfor placement, and conduct follow-up interviews with students;provide assistance with mock interviews, resume critiques, and jobsearches; administer career planning assessments; providevocational and educational guidance training for students.
Assist with the development and supervision ofstudent organizations in collaboration with student leaders; planand coordinate social and cultural activities for students; attendand assist with coordination of college activities sponsored by thestudent association and other student groups; coordinate thestudent election process.
Two years of experience related to the duties ofthe position.
Completion of an Associate's Degree or 60semester units (90 quarter units). NOTE: An additional year ofqualifying experience may be substituted for up to one year ofcollege education.

(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equalto 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicablepart-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalentfor purposes of meeting the experience requirement.
