Job summary

Cardinal O'Hara High School is seeking a paraprofessional to support students in a dynamic classroom environment. The role includes assisting with instruction, supervision during classes and activities, and implementing RTI strategies under supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may involve personal care duties per IEP. Hours are 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., 6.5 hours daily, 32.5 hours per week, on a 10-month duty schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus related experience in a field with specialized duties.
• Experience in education, community service, or child-centered services for at least 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist student in transitioning throughout the building and provide support in all academic areas.
• Provide direct supervision for students during classes and extracurricular activities.
• Support behavior modification, emotional development, and proximity control as needed.
• Assist with personal care duties as noted in the student’s IEP, including lifting, feeding, and hygiene when required.
