Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA) seeks a Middle School Student Support Advisor to promote engagement and academic progress for grades 6–8 in a virtual learning environment. The role builds relationships with students and families and partners with teachers and school leadership.
The position emphasizes data-driven support, onboarding of Learning Coaches, and collaboration across the Student Support Team, with a home-based setup and periodic office days.
Job Description Residency Requirements: Must reside in Michigan. The Middle School Student Support Advisor supports students in grades 6–8 by promoting consistent engagement, attendance, academic progress, and connection to the school community. The Advisor builds meaningful relationships with students and families, identifies barriers to participation, and provides individualized support through the school’s Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Working collaboratively with teachers, school leadership, and other members of the Student Support Team, the Advisor helps students develop the habits, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in a virtual learning environment.
