Job summary

Lahabraschools is seeking a School Cafeteria Monitor to supervise students in the cafeteria, lunch areas, hallways and other school grounds during breakfast, lunch or non-instructional times. You will help maintain a safe, orderly environment and support staff as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with school-age children; training and evaluation will be part of the selection process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria, lunch areas, restrooms, playgrounds, and hallways during breakfast, lunch or non-instructional times.
• Monitor behavior and ensure safety in all supervised areas.
• Assist with routine duties and coordinate with school staff as needed.

The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview.To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each test part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months.
