Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools, ISD 624 is seeking a Paraprofessional to support student supervision across hallways and common areas. You will assist with detention/ISS, run passes, and help coordinate homework with teachers, while modeling appropriate behavior throughout the day.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, with minimal experience working with children; an associates/technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and minimal experience with children or equivalent.
• Associates/Technical degree preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Monitors hallways, entrances, labs, playgrounds, lunchrooms and student areas.
• Supervises students and enforces school rules and behavior.
• Coordinates homework for ISS/detention with teachers.
• Attends relevant meetings and participates in committees as needed.
• Provides customer service to students, staff, parents and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Hours/Day: 9:00AM-5:30PM (M-F 8 hours per day), 40 Hours per week, 180 days per year

Start Date: ASAP

Salary - Per Paraprofessional Contract: Level II, Step 1

Essential Functions

• Monitors hallways, building entrances, computer labs, playgrounds, lunchrooms and student passing areas.
• Carries out student discipline as directed by administrator and checks in and supervises detention/ISS attendees.
• Runs passes for students; assures passes are accurate.
• Walks throughout school buildings; acts as a model for student behavior.
• Acts as a supervisor to students, enforcing school rules and expectations.
• Coordinates homework of students in ISS or detention with teachers.
• Attends and participates in relevant meetings and committees.
• Monitors transportation and pickup/drop-off areas for students and staff.
• Provides customer service to students, staff, parents, visitors and the general public.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

High School diploma or GED and minimal experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred.
