Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a Tutor for Extended Day/20 Day Funds to work with students and support academic achievement. The position is a temporary, on-site role reporting to the Principal in the Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment department.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate, with prior classroom experience; strong communication and student-management skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.
• Prior classroom experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Strong student management and organization.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Provides academic assistance in the student’s area(s) of greatest need.
• Collaborates with the student’s teacher concerning the student’s academic needs.
• Engages students in appropriate academic activities.
• Assists students in developing strong academic skills.
• Establishes and maintains rapport with the students.
• Maintains records of student progress.
• Provides evaluations and other reports as requested.
• Participates in scheduled meetings.
• Provides record of hours worked to an assigned Tutor Contact.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
