The Learning Lamp, in partnership with Ignite Education Solutions, is seeking Personal Care Aides to support students in the North Star School District at Pressley Ridge Day School. The role follows individual care plans and focuses on daily living assistance, mobility support, and classroom inclusion.

Hours align with school districts, offering a collaborative environment, professional development, and benefits for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training (mandated reporter training, physical, TB test).
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending for long periods during an eight-hour day.
• Previous experience with individuals with special needs or disabilities preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with activities of daily living including hygiene.
• Support students in mobility and transferring as needed.
• Provide physical and emotional support to students.
• Implement individualized care plans developed with teachers and nurses.
• Support in the classroom and with instructional materials.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff about progress and concerns.
• Promote independence in daily activities.
