Job summary

Chicago Heights School District 170 is seeking a School Counselor/Social Worker and Case Manager to provide comprehensive counseling, social-emotional support, and coordinated special education services for students. Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker and/or School Counselor endorsement required.
• Knowledge of IDEA and Illinois School Code and related special education laws.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, students, families, and outside agencies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Conduct student observations, assessments, and social developmental studies as part of evaluation processes.
• Assist in identifying student needs and developing interventions and supports.
• Support development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and transition plans.
• Provide parent education and support related to student needs.
• Coordinate referrals, evaluations, eligibility, IEP meetings, and annual reviews for special education.
