Job summary

Commonpoint in New York is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Counselor Advocate to support the academic, social‑emotional, and overall well‑being of students within the school community. The role coordinates family resources and connects families to appropriate school, agency, and community supports, guided by a holistic, strengths‑based approach.

The position provides day‑to‑day guidance to Part‑Time Counselor Advocates, works with teachers and administrators, and collaborates with mental health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Child Development, Psychology, Public Administration, Recreation, or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in youth development or afterschool programming.
• Experience managing staff, compliance, partnerships, and program operations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support attendance and required program documentation.
• Coordinate with Program Director/Assistant Program Director and report concerns.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to coordinate student services.
• Provide consistent mentoring and supervision to identified students and volunteers.
