Job summary

Catapult Learning, Inc. seeks a part-time School Counselor in the Bronx, NY. You will advocate for students, support their behavioral, personal, emotional, and social development, and collaborate with families and staff to connect them with community resources.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in counseling and an active NYS Counseling Certificate; experience with K-8 students is preferred. Opportunities for year-round and/or summer work are available.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling or related field.
• Active NYS Counseling Certificate.
• Experience working with students (K-8) desired.

Responsibilities

• Positively impact students’ educational, behavioral, social, and emotional well-being.
• Nurture student potential through personalized, small-group, and classroom counseling, focusing on academic, emotional, behavioral, or developmental needs.
• Conduct learning assessments to reveal students' strengths and areas for growth, informing referrals as needed.
• Empower parents and school staff by connecting them with community resources that align with students' unique needs.
• Ensure administrative excellence by completing accurate, efficient paperwork.
• Stay updated on field trends to enhance guidance and support for students.
• Foster trust and reliability by adhering to the Counseling Policy Manual, funding guidelines, and school procedures.
