Job summary

Polk County Public Schools Lake Region High in Eagle Lake, Florida seeks a School Counselor (11-month) to design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive guidance program addressing academic, personal/social, and career development.

The counselor will deliver a guidance curriculum, support individual planning, provide preventive and responsive services, and collaborate with teachers and families to promote student achievement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of counseling principles and practices.
• Develops and maintains plans for counseling programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in technology and software.
• Demonstrates leadership and professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Aligns with district mission to support academic achievement and equity.
• Implements federal, state and local mandates for counseling.
• Facilitates student transitions and progression.
• Develops and maintains a written plan for delivery of the counseling program.
• Provides guidance curriculum, individual planning, and preventive/responsive services.
• Works with students individually and in groups; offers referrals as appropriate.
• Provides consultation to teachers and school personnel.
