Job summary

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Counselor. This position is located at Oxford Hills Middle School.

Under the supervision of the Director of Student Services, the counselor provides students, parents, administrators, and teachers with information on career and educational opportunities; administers and interprets career assessment tools; and assists students in developing educational and occupational goals and plans.

Qualifications

• Certification/License: State Certification as a Guidance Counselor.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in school counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret standardized test scores and help students develop education and occupation plans.
• Assist students with course selections and career interests.
• Schedule classes and coordinate with staff.
• Disseminate information on occupational opportunities and admissions processes.
• Coordinate with administrators, teachers, college personnel, and community organizations.
• Maintain records and assist with dropout prevention efforts.
• Provide guidance to promote student growth and self-understanding.
• Assist in orienting new students and families to school procedures.
