Oxford Hills School District seeks a qualified Substance Misuse Counselor to serve Oxford Hills Middle School (two campuses) and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. The role focuses on intervention, counseling, and collaboration with families and staff to promote student well-being.

The ideal candidate holds Maine LADC or CADC licensure and has experience with adolescents, confidentiality, and program development within a public school setting.

Qualifications

• Maine LADC or CADC licensure is required.
• Experience with adolescents and substance use issues.
• Understanding of confidentiality and applicable laws in schools.
• Knowledge of the public school environment and program development.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with intervention and counseling related to substance misuse, including assessments and referrals.
• Supports counselors, teachers, and nurses by providing educational information on substance misuse.
• Collaborates with school staff and administration on regular basis.
• Works with health teachers on curriculum development and delivery.
• Gathers MIYHS data to develop action plans for 7-12.
• Participates in MTSS, PBIS, Attendance and Student Support Services teams.
• Supports staff through training and provision of materials.
