Job summary

Hmong College Prep Academy in Kentucky is hiring a paraprofessional support staff member for the classroom, onsite. Starting hourly $18.20-$26.00 with a $1,500 sign-on stipend prorated by start date. Reports to Paraprofessional Support Manager.

Associate degree or equivalent experience required; preferred DOT certification and 3+ years of school experience. You will mentor students and support instructional activities, collaborating with teachers to foster growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students in community-based worksites to develop job skills.
• Support students in transferring workplace skills to other settings.
• Advocate for accommodations and modifications in the workplace.
• Encourage students to try diverse tasks within the job.
• Assist students with independent living skills such as using public transport.
• Help students meet individual employment goals with teachers and supervisors.
• Collect data and document progress for training plans.
• Tutor and assist students to master assignments and reinforce concepts.
• Perform hall monitoring, bus duties and lunch room monitoring duties.
