Job summary

ASU Local, part of Arizona State University, seeks an Academic Advisor 2 to resolve complex student issues and lead projects focused on student support. The role blends individual contribution with program coordination and requires working across multiple California sites to promote transfer pathways and degree planning.

The position is grant-funded with an initial six-month contract, renewable based on performance, and supports ASU Local’s mission to expand equitable access to higher education

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field.
• Equivalent combination of experience and/or training to achieve comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Enrollment Growth & Recruitment Support: implement recruitment activities to increase enrollment in ASU Local programs across all California sites; coordinate events, information sessions, and communications with recruitment plans; support enrollment goals for the region.
• Student Coaching & Transfer Pathways: carry a caseload of students; guide transfer requirements, timelines, and degree planning; support transfer credit alignment with teams.
• Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: track enrollment, transfer, retention data; maintain dashboards and reports; monitor progress and flag trends impacting retention.
• Community Engagement & Advocacy: represent ASU Local at events; gather feedback to inform recruitment practices and student support strategies.
