Job summary

Derby Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator (Instructional Support) to assist certified staff in classrooms and non-instructional duties, helping to meet instructional goals. You will help supervise students, reinforce learning, and support with assessments and materials.

Field trip supervision and collaboration with parents may be involved. Qualifications include a high school diploma and willingness to contribute to inclusive education, with prior experience in special needs

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some college coursework or passing required by NCLB Act.
• Prior experience with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist teachers with classroom exercises, tests, and assessments and with materials preparation.
