Funded through a three-year philanthropic investment, this position leads assessment, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts that help the university understand student experiences, measure initiative effectiveness, and identify opportunities to strengthen student success. Working with quantitative and qualitative evidence, including student voice, the position partners with faculty, staff, and campus leaders to translate findings into action, support institutional learning, and fulfill reporting commitments to the initiative’s funder.

The Student Success Assessment and Evaluation Manager also serves as a key steward of the Student Success Outcomes Framework (SSOF), UW Tacoma’s shared framework for understanding and improving student success and post‑graduation outcomes.

This position has funding through June 2029. The continuation of this position beyond that time is dependent on additional funding.

  • Partner with initiative leadership and campus stakeholders to implement assessment and evaluation plans for student success initiatives, including the Pathways to Purpose initiative and related strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate in the development and refinement of evaluation frameworks, logic models, theories of change, and measures of success that support equitable student success and post‑graduation outcomes.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to better understand student experiences, barriers, engagement, career development, sense of purpose, and post‑graduation outcomes using data from surveys, student success technologies, institutional data systems, and other relevant sources.
Student Success Outcomes Framework (SSOF) and Student Success Measurement Infrastructure (25%):
  • Support the ongoing development, implementation, and refinement of the Student Success Outcomes Framework (SSOF) as a shared framework for understanding and improving equitable student success outcomes.
  • Advance the use of leading indicators and engagement data that help the institution monitor student engagement, academic momentum, social‑emotional development, career readiness, and other factors associated with completion and post‑graduation success.
Reporting, Evidence Translation, and Impact Communication (25%):
  • In partnership with initiative leadership, develop reports, briefs, presentations, and data visualizations that translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for campus stakeholders.
  • Support reporting and accountability requirements associated with gift‑funded initiatives and other strategic student success investments, including preparation of reports and impact documentation for external funders.
  • Synthesize evidence from multiple sources to identify trends, emerging needs, and opportunities for institutional action.
Consultation, Collaborative Learning, and Capacity Building (10%):
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to faculty, staff, and campus partners on assessment planning, survey design, and program evaluation.
  • With campus partners, facilitate data parties, workshops, and other collaborative learning opportunities that build campus capacity for evidence‑informed improvement.
Applied Research and Innovation for Student Success (5%):
