Job summary

California State University, Chico is seeking a Student Services Professional II to provide direct academic advising for NSC majors/minors and support student success. The role focuses on outreach to current and incoming students and involves coordinating the NSC Student Success Center activities.

Under the NSC College Advising and Retention Specialist, the SSP II will help with tutoring programs and learning labs, contributing to equitable student outcomes and timely progress toward degrees.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field.
• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
• A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct academic advising for majors and minors within NSC departments/programs.
• Assist students with degree planning and progress toward degree objectives using interviewing and counseling techniques.
• Organize and supervise the mathematics tutoring program and the math learning lab in collaboration with the department chair.

Education

Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a related field

Master’s degree may substitute for one year of professional experience
