Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking an Academic Advisement Assistant in the CEAS Undergraduate Student Office to provide individual advising, support retention, and coordinate advising and event programs.

The role includes teaching the CEAS new student seminar, supporting orientation and registration, and collaborating with faculty and staff to promote student success. Requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
• Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and one year of full-time experience in a college or university setting in student services related areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality academic advising in individual and group settings.
• Monitor course enrollment and academic progress.
• Coordinate programs and events to support CEAS students.
• Teach the Introduction to Stony Brook seminar course.
• Assist in orientation, registration, and new student transition activities.
