Responsibilities

• Meet with students individually or in groups to provide academic advising and guidance.
• Help students select courses, understand degree requirements, and create academic plans.
• Stay updated on policies and degree pathways; navigate prerequisites and core requirements.
• Collaborate with tutoring centers, career services, and other resources to support retention.
• Track academic progress, monitor grades and credits earned, and address challenges.
• Interpret and explain institutional policies regarding add/drop, withdrawals, and transfer credits.
• Assist with orientation and retention programming and support first-semester navigation.
• Maintain records of advising sessions and student progress using advising software.
• Represent the Advising Office at open houses and admission events.
