Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking a Student Assistant in Corporate Services to support social media marketing and related outreach efforts. You will create graphics, write content, and help develop promotional materials for online and print channels.

The role requires strong writing and communication skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office and CMS tools, and the ability to update the department website as needed. This is an on-campus, part-time student position.

Qualifications

• Current Del Mar College student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours while employed.
• Majors may include Communications, Journalism, News & Storytelling, Marketing, Public Relations or English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
• Familiarity with web page formatting and basic graphic design.
• Ability to produce professionally written documents.

Responsibilities

• Create graphics and content for social media.
• Design and develop flyers, brochures and other promotional content for online and print.
• Research business stories to tell, relevant industry news, trending topics and industry influences.
• Write articles, press releases and social media content for internal (employees) and external (media, customers) consumption.
• Update department website when required using the Content Management System ( CMS ).
