Position SummaryThe Student Salon Coordinator supports the daily operations of the student salon while providing an exceptional guest experience. This position manages appointments, guest services, transactions, retail, and administrative responsibilities while working closely with students, educators, and team members to maintain an efficient, professional salon environment.Essential Job FunctionsIncluding but not limited to:Provide exceptional guest service by greeting guests, assessing their needs, answering questions, and recommending appropriate services, products, and appointments.Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments while monitoring the appointment book to maximize availability and minimize scheduling gaps.Address guest concerns and feedback and support guest retention and communication initiatives.Accurately process appointments, transactions, gift cards, deposits, guest records, and required documentation using salon software and established procedures.Complete opening and closing duties, prepare daily schedules, process mail, and support the Guest Services Center and other administrative needs.Support retail sales and location goals by providing accurate product knowledge and recommendations; maintain clean, organized, and well-presented retail areas.Assist with product ordering, inventory, receiving, stocking, and maintaining appropriate product levels.Work collaboratively with students, educators, and team members to support an efficient, positive, and professional salon environment.Assist with training new team members and serve as a resource for services, pricing, products, policies, and salon procedures.Support marketing, promotional, direct-mail, and guest communication initiatives as assigned.Report maintenance, safety, supply, and operational concerns and follow established procedures and organizational policies.Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, communication style, and work environment consistent with organizational standards.Demonstrate reliability, accountability, initiative, and a commitment to exceptional guest service.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education, Experience & QualificationsMinimum of one year of customer service experience; salon, spa, beauty school, or other service-focused experience preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required.Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and computer skills, with the ability to learn salon software and scheduling systems.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Professional, polished appearance and demeanor.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.Physical RequirementsThis is a standing position requiring the ability to stand and move throughout the workday.Must be able to lift and carry boxes and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.Must be able to perform routine duties involving reaching, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the salon.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required.
