Job summary

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking a Lunch/Recess Aide to supervise students during lunch and recess, ensuring safety and a positive environment.

This 10-month position runs roughly 10:15am–12:45pm, about 2.5 hours per day, with duties including monitoring cafeterias, assisting with transitions, and reinforcing school expectations.

Candidates should enjoy working with children and have experience with students.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with students preferred.
• Must enjoy working with children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch and recess periods to ensure safety, appropriate behavior, and compliance with school rules.
• Monitor cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways, and other designated areas.
• Assist students as needed with seating, lining up, transitions, and basic needs.
• Enforce school district policies and behavioral expectations consistently and fairly.
• Address minor disciplinary issues and report significant concerns to appropriate school staff.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, injuries, or conflicts.
• Maintain clear lines of sight and active supervision at all times.
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of lunch or recess areas as assigned.
• Support inclusion and ensure all students are treated with dignity and respect.
