Job summary

Plum Borough School District is seeking dependable School Bus Aides to ensure student safety and comfort on the way to and from school. Join a dedicated team that values teamwork, reliability, and professional conduct.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and support students with boarding, seating, and mobility needs. Training provided; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in student management with a patient, supportive, and professional approach.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus at designated stops and at the school.
• Support students with special needs by operating and securing wheelchairs or other mobility devices, including proper use of lifts and restraints.
• Secure student safety devices as required during transport.
• Help maintain discipline and promote respectful, safe behavior on the bus.
• De-escalate situations calmly and report any incidents or concerns promptly to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Assist the bus driver during emergencies, inclement weather, and other situations to ensure student safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or designee.
