Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is hiring referees for youth basketball games for grades 3-5. This position requires officiating 2-6 games on Saturdays from December 5, 2026, to March 6, 2027. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of basketball, communicate effectively, and work well with both students and adults.

Candidates must be at least 14 years old and attend a mandatory training session. The pay starts at $15.45 per game, with stipends available for working multiple games.

Job description

Primary Objective Of Position

To officiate MCE rec basketball games for grades 3-5.

Assignment

2-6 games per week on Saturdays starting December 5, 2026 through March 6, 2027.

Expected to attend referee training on November 15, 2026 from 6‑8 pm.

Wages

• Starting at $15.45 per game.
• Additional $100 stipend for referees that work 25 games.
• Additional $100 stipend for referees that work 50 games.

Job Responsibilities

• To referee youth basketball games in a safe and respectful manner.
• To ensure the proper use and care of the facilities and equipment used.
• To enforce safety rules and take disciplinary action when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work with groups of students and adults.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Experience playing and/or officiating basketball.
