Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is hiring a Community Education Referee to officiate youth basketball games for grades 3-8. You'll manage 3-8 games per week on Saturdays, starting December 5, 2026, through March 6, 2027.

The position requires knowledge of basketball and effective communication skills. Training will be provided. Referees earn $25.75 per game, with additional stipends for working multiple games. Join us in fostering a fun and safe environment for our young athletes!

Qualifications

Assignment

3-8 games per week on Saturdays starting December 5, 2026 through March 6, 2027.
Expected to attend referee training on November 15, 2026 from 6-8pm.

Wages

• $25.75 per game.
• Additional $100 stipend for referees that work 25 games
• Additional $100 stipend for referees that work 50 games
• Not benefit eligible.

Primary Objective of Position

To officiate MCE rec basketball games for grades 3-8.

Job Responsibilities

• To referee youth basketball games in a safe and respectful manner.
• To ensure the proper use and care of the facilities and equipment used.
• To enforce safety rules and take disciplinary action when necessary.
• To guide and assist student referees.
• To handle issues on the court and be the decision maker regarding rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
