Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools through Minnetonka Community Education is seeking referees for youth basketball games for grades 3-8. Assignments are 3–8 games each Saturday from December 5, 2026 through March 6, 2027, with a training on November 15, 2026, 6–8pm.

Pay is $25.75 per game, with $100 stipends after 25 and after 50 games; not benefit eligible. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of basketball and the ability to work with groups of students and adults and to communicate effectively with

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of basketball.
• Ability to work with groups of students and adults.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Experience playing and/or officiating basketball.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must attend required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Referee youth basketball games in a safe and respectful manner.
• Ensure proper use and care of facilities and equipment.
• Enforce safety rules and take disciplinary action when necessary.
• Guide and assist student referees.
• Handle issues on the court and be the decision maker regarding rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Assignment

Wages

• $25.75 per game.
• Additional $100 stipend for referees that work 25 games.
• Additional $100 stipend for referees that work 50 games.

To officiate MCE rec basketball games for grades 3-8.
