About the Student Recruitment Manager
JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of Community Outreach and Dual Enrollment, the Student Recruitment Manager is responsible for the overall recruitment, adult student recruitment, high school relations, prospective student information sessions and community outreach initiatives.

In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with general marketing for Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) as it pertains to student recruitment and supervising the campus visit coordinator and outreach coordinator with any outreach. This position is also responsible for managing student records management, preparing reports, coordinating recruiting events, and being a lead in our Customer Relations Management (CRM) efforts.

A flexible working schedule is required as the position will require evening and weekend work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In collaboration with the Director of Community Outreach and Dual Enrollment, develop the college's strategic marketing and recruitment plan, reflecting collaboration with both instruction and student services and supporting the Spokane Colleges strategic plan. *
  • Schedule and participate in college fairs and other appropriate community events. Work with Spokane Colleges District Marketing to coordinate events, as necessary. *
  • Responsible for CRM implementation and maintenance related to recruitment efforts as a primary campus partner for SFCC. Coordinate with Student Success Technology Manager on CRM campaigns and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with District Marketing for advertising and social media connections used for recruiting purposes.
  • Supervise classified and exempt employees and work-study students (train, schedule, evaluate, discipline and respond to grievances). Adhere to classified contracts and all district rules and regulations ensuring efficient operations. *
  • Inform and educate staff about behavior and performance expectations, provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance, and ensure performance and behavioral problems are corrected promptly and effectively. *
  • Lead strategic outreach programs (i.e., faculty telethons, campus/program open house events and student service outreach teams with high schools, non-traditional students). *
  • Develop and maintain campus enrollment calendar, outreach timeline and advertising campaigns. *
  • Work with SFCC staff, faculty, and administrators in developing efficient recruitment processes and ensure program information is available to appropriate stakeholders. *
  • Collaborate with faculty on developing marketing and outreach opportunities for their academic programs. *
  • Generate recruiting mailings and coordinate prospect management using appropriate software programs. *
  • Assist other campus initiatives, as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain recruiting publications, purchase marketing materials/collateral as needed/required.
  • Maintain program budgets, oversee department purchase card, and order office inventory supplies. Coordinate with supervisor on status of all recruitment budgets. *
  • Maintain program records and generate reports, as necessary.
  • Work with campus divisions and attend department meetings as requested. *
  • Maintain all social media used for recruiting purposes. *
  • Assist with enrollment management initiatives and other areas in Student Services as needed.
  • Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions. *
  • Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements. *
  • Support and advance the Spokane Colleges strategic plan, and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, business, public relations or a related field from an accredited institution. Or an equivalent mix of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position.
  • One or more years' related recruitment experience.
  • Knowledge of social media applications and their uses for student recruitment.
  • Ability to make group presentations using excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently on projects.
  • Ability to create procedures and training programs.
  • Ability to effectively organize multiple work assignments, involving competing priorities, to produce work products that are accurate, of high quality and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work is performed in a normal, temperature-controlled office environment as well as other locations for student recruitment events.
  • Work is active in nature.
  • Move up to 25 lbs. occasionally for student recruitment events. Team lifts are encouraged and to be used at the employee's discretion.
  • Frequent use of computers and exposure to terminal screens.
  • Visual focus and strain.
  • Work directly with students/clients.
  • Work involves constant interruptions and requirement to answer on demand questions by phone, in person, or electronically.
  • Frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation.
  • Frequent oral and auditory communication with others.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • 12-month position.
  • This position is overtime eligible.
  • Requires local or regional travel.
  • Criminal background check is required.
  • May be required to work alternate shift.
