Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a radiology team member to perform diagnostic imaging procedures under radiographer supervision. You will ensure patient safety, prepare equipment and supplies, and coordinate routine radiographic and fluoroscopic work, including portable X-ray, trauma and surgery imaging.

The role requires high school diploma and completing at least one year in an accredited imaging program, with preferred CRT-BLS. Part-time site: Lakeland Hospital Niles, MI.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures with proper positioning.

• Evaluate image quality and push to PACS for permanent records.
• Protect patients from radiation using lead shields and safety factors.
• Complete EHR clerical tasks and verify patient history.

Job description

Job Summary

Perform diagnostic imaging procedures. Under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer, performs diagnostic imaging procedures. Assume responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures. Assures equipment/supplies are present and accounted for at beginning and end of each imaging procedure. Under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer, coordinates and performs routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices.

Essential Functions

Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiological and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing standardized positioning, As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) concepts and immobilization techniques to minimize patient movement and maximize patient safety. Produces x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist. Proficiently operate and maintain imaging equipment through safe handling and assisting in necessary quality assurance. Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and pushes images to picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assures proper identification is evident. Ensures the protection of patients from undue exposure to radiation through the utilization of lead shields and various safety factors. Perform EHR clerical functions related to patient chart documentation. Verifies patients’ clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.

Qualifications Required

• High School Diploma
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Must have completed the first year of an accredited imaging program
• Preferred CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (Upon Hire required)
• Preferred CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross (Upon Hire required)
