Job summary

American Institute of Physics Incorporated (AIP) seeks a Student Program Coordinator to bolster student engagement via SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma, coordinating programs that foster leadership, development, and outreach for undergraduate physics students.

Working under limited supervision, you will collaborate with the Student Programs team to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and improve a variety of student-centered initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Communications, Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience coordinating programs, events, student initiatives, internships, or educational programs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong organizational and program management skills with ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with students, advisors, volunteers, and partners.
• Experience planning events, workshops, conferences, or educational programming.
• Customer service mindset to create positive participant experiences.
• Ability to analyze feedback and suggest improvements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and databases/CRM; familiarity with Monday.com preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for programs and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SPS Internship Program administration from application to onboarding and lifecycle support.
• Plan and implement professional development activities for student interns.
• Monitor timelines, maintain records, and meet milestones.
• Evaluate programs and recommend improvements to the student experience.
• Develop resources and engagement materials for SPS chapters and Sigma Pi Sigma.
• Coordinate communications with students, advisors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Maintain program documentation, databases, and reporting.
• Collaborate across departments for consistent messaging and seamless participant experience.
• Assist with planning student-focused conferences, workshops, and events like PhysCon.
• Represent SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma at conferences and outreach activities.
