Liberty University’s Marketing Department seeks a Student Photographer to document campus life, events, and promotional shoots. You’ll work with the photo team, handle lighting, post-production, and build a library of high-quality imagery; portfolio submission is required.
The role requires familiarity with the full photo production process, experience with Camera Raw, Photo Mechanic, and Photoshop, and availability for nights and weekends across campus.
The Student Photographer position within the Marketing Department works with the photo team to produce high quality visual content that documents the history and promotes the mission of Liberty University. Candidates should be familiar with the entire photo production process and have an understanding of various camera platforms. Student photographers will primarily focus on event-based photo coverage around campus to build up a library of imagery and must be able to work events on nights and weekends. Student photographers will also assist on larger promotional shoots working alongside many different departments on campus. All candidates must submit a link to their photography portfolio to be considered for the position.
This position does not supervise anyone.
Work Environment: This LU Photo office is in Green Hall on Liberty University’s campus; however the student photographer position also works in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations on and off campus. On certain occasions, the student photographer is expected to work extended hours, particularly when providing coverage for events like Commencement, Homecoming, and athletic events. In such cases, the student photographer is responsible for working diligently throughout the entire duration of the event.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.
