Student Pastor
The Student Pastor at Crossway Church is a highly relational, visionary leader and dynamic communicator who can relate biblical truth to middle and high school students. The ideal candidate works well with a team and connects naturally with students and their parents in a way that fulfills Crossway’s mission to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ who go and make disciples.
Christ-like character, a genuine passion for Jesus and students, and proven experience reaching unchurched students are essential.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and vision for Crossway’s student ministry, including middle school and high school students.
- Plan, prepare, and implement ministry that encourages students togather, grow, give, go, and experience grace.
- Serve as the primary Bible teacher in the Student Ministry and participate in broader Crossway preaching opportunities as appropriate.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and parents that encourage personal relationships with Jesus Christ and Christ-centered community.
- Recruit, train, equip, and mobilize adult volunteers and student leaders.
- Plan and oversee student ministry events, including camp, retreats, mid-week gatherings, Life Groups, outreach events, surf days, and missions.
- Lead the development and expansion of student small groups and discipleship strategies, including baptism and evangelism goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to partner with parents in discipling their families.
- Develop student leaders who embrace Christ, His Church, and a lifestyle of service.
- Develop a strategy for maintaining a gospel presence in area middle schools and high schools.
- Oversee the student ministry budget, calendar, and communications, including website, social media, email, and text.
- Work collaboratively with the Crossway Ministry Team and support the church's overall mission, vision, and philosophy of ministry.
Other Responsibilities and Expectations
- Pray regularly for students, families, volunteers, the church, and the community.
- Attend weekly staff chapel.
- Pursue spiritual growth through personal Bible study, prayer, worship, and Christian community.
- Participate actively in the overall life of Crossway Church and in a neighborhood group.
- Participate financially in the life of the church through regular giving.
- Be a team player and maintain the unity of the body.
- Enthusiastically support and live out the mission, vision, and strategy of Crossway Church.
- Abide by the Crossway Ministry Team Covenant.
