Crossroads Community Church, Inc. seeks an Associate Students Pastor to lead and coordinate middle and high school ministries, recruit and train volunteers, and partner with site pastors to deliver vibrant student experiences.
You will oversee first impressions, parent connections, and outreach initiatives, while mentoring Dream Teams and Influencers, with opportunities for professional growth over 2–3 years.
Crossroads Church is a growing multi-site, interdenominational church. Our sites are currently located in Ohio and Kentucky, with plans to expand to additional cities. We also have an online presence that serves thousands of people who aren’t located near one of our physical sites. We believe the story of Jesus' redemption is the greatest story ever told, and that's why we embrace creativity, adventure, authenticity, and tenacity to share this story with the world. Our desire is to model our staff and church community after the church in Revelation, where people of all nations, tribes, and tongues are worshiping and working together. The Associate Students Pastor will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, coordination, and oversight for various aspects of Crossroads Student Ministry. Depending on the specific site team, this includes direct management of groups, first impressions, parent connection, student reachout, special events, theme weekends, Influencers, Dream Teams and weekly operations. The Associate Students Pastor will also be responsible for recruiting, training, supervising and guiding the volunteer teams that contribute to the success of these areas. This position will play a vital role in shaping the spiritual growth and development of students & volunteers while ensuring a seamless and vibrant ministry experience.
Provide clear vision and direct oversight for all middle school and high school cGroup environments, ensuring every student has access to a consistent, relational, and spiritually intentional group experience aligned with the overall strategy of Students. Manage the Connections (first impressions) team to ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all students, parents, and visitors. This includes recruiting, training and building robust teams that will provide a best in class experience for all of our student services. Cultivate and maintain effective communication channels to connect with volunteers, students, & parents, providing updates and facilitating their involvement in the ministry. Launch, recruit, coordinate and support Dream Team clubs in 5 or more of our largest districts including middle school and high school teams. Partner with ReachOut and build relationships with local ministries to launch and maintain consistent ReachOut opportunities for students to participate in. Own the creativity and execution of Theme weekends from a connections perspective. Help reshape and restructure Influencers program to provide more mentorship and personal investment for the students. This also includes teaching and content of influencers. Apprentice with the Site Pastor in all areas of Student Ministry for professional development with the goal of preparing to move into a site pastor position within 2-3 years. Share the on stage hosting and teaching opportunities with the Site Pastor. Plan, oversee and maximize opportunities for students to connect with CS outside of our building. Not limited to but including Summer hangouts.
Minimum of 2 years working in the field preferred
Excellent communication skills
Proven, dynamic communicator to large groups of students and/or adults
Naturally magnetic, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and adult leaders
Experience developing and leading high capacity volunteer leaders; strong leadership skills
Passion to draw grades 6th-12th into overall mission of Crossroads
Ability to handle conflict and difficult conversations among volunteers, students, and parents
Ability to determine what is working and what is not in weekend experiences, resources for students and parents, and other resources/experiences provided by Student Ministry Site Support Team
Provide critical feedback to improve experiences and resources
Must be a self-starter and have a teachable spirit
Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with staff and leaders
Demonstrate flexibility, responsibility, dependability, and follow through
Ability to see the big picture and simultaneously attend to details
Understand budget constraints and operate within those boundaries
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Work both independently and within a team
Must be able to walk up to 5 miles, standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, and stooping as duties required. Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and other high impact events at Crossroads.
