Job summary

Central Christian Church in Glendale is seeking a Student Pastor to lead and grow the student ministry at the Glendale campus. You will work closely with the Lead Student Pastor and Campus Pastor to recruit, develop, and equip leaders, aligning with the campus vision and church mission.

You will foster a collaborative culture, build diverse teams, and engage students through the ministry’s core values. This full-time role emphasizes leadership development and community outreach within and beyond

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and engaging environment for students
• Connect students to Central Student Ministry
• Develop students for the next step in their faith
• Participate as a Student Team Member
• Manage communication between Student Team and Campus Pastor
• Provide and implement strategic leadership for student ministry
• Develop safety procedures with Campus and Leadership teams
• Grow partnerships with families, schools, and organizations
• Support Campus Pastor in leadership of the campus, including First Impressions and Groups ministries
• Handle benevolence requests and community outreach when needed
• Back up Campus Pastor in absence
• Attend all church-wide and campus events
• Attend weekly Student Ministry team meetings
• Attend Campus Lead Team meetings as required
• Pastor-on-Call Rotation
• Other duties as assigned

Position Title: Student Pastor

Campus: Glendale

Reports to: Glendale Campus Pastor

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary

The Student Pastor will create an exciting and engaging environment that leads students to discover and fully own faith in Jesus, reaching and engaging disconnected students in the community. This role works closely with the Lead Student Pastor to recruit, develop, and equip leaders. The Student Pastor also partners with the Campus Pastor and campus team to support and implement the campus vision and strategy, ensuring Student Ministry aligns with the overall mission and ministry of the church.

This individual must fit within our collaborative culture and build teams that represents the campus and the community in areas of gender, ethnicity, and age.

• Manage communication between Student Team and Campus Pastor
• Provide and implement strategic leadership and initiatives for student ministry
• Develop and adhere to safety procedures, in cooperation with Campus and Leadership teams
• Develop, maintain, and grow partnerships with families, school administrators, and organizations
• Support the Campus Pastor in his/her leadership of the campus by:
  • Working in the First Impressions and Groups ministries, as needed
  • Handling benevolence requests
  • Support community outreach efforts
  • Act as a back up for Campus Pastor in his or her absence
• Other duties as assigned

Leadership Development

• Recruit, develop and empower adult leaders to serve within the ministry
• Recruit, develop and empower students to serve in other ministries
• Attend all church wide/campus specific events
• Attend weekly team meetings in student ministries
• Attend Campus Lead Team meetings as required
• Pastor-on-Call Rotation
• Other duties as assigned
