The Department of the Air Force Headquarters seeks a dedicated student support position serving as the primary contact for student services, reporting to the Registrar and Director of Student Operations.
This temporary appointment may extend or end earlier based on funds and workload, with opportunities tied to OPM standards and 120-day roster timelines.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of direct student support reporting to the Registrar and Director of Student Operations.
This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without further competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds. Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include providing administrative and operational support in a professional office, customer service, or organizational setting; providing in-depth assistance in specialty program areas such as database management, records maintenance, customer intake, scheduling, or program registration; managing and supporting processes or clients throughout an entire lifecycle (such as onboarding, case management, account maintenance, or program participation). Support of college level students in admissions, registration, and student services is highly desired. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
