Job summary

Mill Valley High School is seeking a Student Nutrition Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is 4 hours per day, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with starting pay of $15.60 per hour and starting around August 14, 2026.

This position participates in food preparation, serving meals and maintaining clean and safe kitchen areas. The job requires standing for long periods, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and completion of the Food Safety Basics Class within two months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must pass standardized strength and agility testing requiring lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Completion of Food Safety Basics Class within 2 months of hire.
• Must submit pre-employment physical prior to first day of work.

4 hours per day, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Position Function (include but are not limited to the following):

Prepares foods from recipes or instructions, cleans, and properly stores equipment. Observes health and sanitation regulations. Attend the Food Safety Basics Class as required. Receives, unpacks, stores and rotates food and supply stocks. Serves food to students and staff. Washes, and sanitizes dishes, serving areas, coolers, preparation surfaces and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Nutrition Kitchen Manager.

Working Conditions:

Able to work harmoniously with others. Requires standing for long periods of time. Must pass standardized strength & agility testing requiring lifting up to 50 pounds. Completion of Food Basics Safety Class within 2 months of hire. Maintains high standards of sanitation and personal cleanliness. Have reliable references Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Starting Salary:

$15.60/hour - commensurate with experience

Requirements:

• Allemployees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis).If you've had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) wecan accept a copy of your test results. If it's been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test. Employees are responsible for the cost of the test.
