Select Specialty Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Student Nurse Technician to support nursing teams while enrolled in an ADN or BSN program. You will assist with patient care tasks, vital signs, and basic nursing procedures under RN supervision, with BLS required on hire.

This per diem opportunity emphasizes hands-on learning, orientation, and potential future full-time advancement within a critical illness recovery setting.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent).
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger-stick blood sugars, bladder scans, urine/stool samples, ostomy care and drainage.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN.
• Deliver meals, assist feeding and document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist with mobility.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and designated areas.

Compensation: $21.50 per hour

• Remove peripheral IV’s as directed by RN (may not remove any IV’s located in antecubital fossa or higher)
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves and document oral intake
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility program
• Transport patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers
• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program) - must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others including patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates.
