Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Student Nurse Tech in Cincinnati, OH for PRN/Per Diem shifts (12-hour blocks day and night). You will support nursing staff by taking vitals, assisting with daily care, and helping with mobility and transport of patients. Enrollment in ADN/BSN and BLS certification are required upon hire.

You will gain hands-on experience aligned with NCLEX requirements and nursing education, in a hospital setting that emphasizes patient care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN) with proof of first year completion.
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal care such as bathing, oral care, shaving and hair care.
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, urine and stool collection, ostomy care and tubing drainage.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN.
• Deliver meals, assist feeding and document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist mobility.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and designated areas.

Location: Cincinnati, OH - Inside of the Christ Hospital

Schedule: PRN/Per Diem/As Needed - 12 Hour Shifts - Day Shift 7:00a-7:00p & Night Shift 7:00p-7:00aCompensation: $22.44 per hour

• Assist patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, routine urine and stool specimen collection, ostomy care and emptying drainage receptacles/tubes
• Remove peripheral IV’s as directed by RN (may not remove any IV’s located in antecubital fossa or higher)
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves and document oral intake
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility program
• Transport patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program) - must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others including patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates.
• BLS certification required upon hire
