The role you’ll contribute:

The Nurse Technician performs duties in compliance with the role and responsibilities learned in Nursing School and under the direct observation of a licensed nurse (RN/LPN). The primary function is to assist with basic patient care needs and perform clinical skills such as basic care routines, vital signs, and blood glucose checks. Proactively functions as a team member to deliver safe, competent, therapeutic, and cost-effective patient care. Assists in caring for geriatrics, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients. Adheres to hand hygiene practices, compliance plans, and all relevant regulations and standards.

• Assist with routine and activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, skin care, nutrition, elimination, physical activity, and comfort measures, respecting patient privacy and dignity.
• Perform basic patient care routines safely and competently, including:
• Obtain and document vital signs, reporting abnormal findings promptly
• Collect lab specimens as directed
• Document intake and output accurately
• Deliver personal hygiene and comfort care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and have completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals, or have completed an accredited nursing program within one year without obtaining RN or LPN licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
