The role you’ll contribute:

The Nurse Technician performs duties in compliance with the role and responsibilities specific to the competencies learned in Nursing School and under the direct observation of a licensed nurse (RN/LPN). The primary function is to assist with the basic care needs of the patient and perform assigned clinical skills, which may include but are not limited to: basic care routines and procedures, vital signs, and blood glucose checks. The Nurse Technician proactively functions as a team member in the delivery of safe, competent, therapeutic, and cost-effective patient care. They will assist in caring for patient populations including geriatrics, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients. Adheres to essential practices for excellence in hand hygiene and complies with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Assist with safe and effective care routines and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Help patients with hygiene, skin care, nutritional and dietary needs, elimination, physical activity, and comfort measures, maintaining respect and privacy at all times.
• Perform basic patient care routines safely and competently, including:
• Obtain and document vital signs; report abnormal findings promptly.
• Collect lab specimens as directed.
• Document intake and output accurately.
• Ensure personal hygiene and comfort care.
• Notify licensed nurse of problematic IV sites and discontinue peripheral IVs per instructions.

Experience and Education Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and have completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals, or have completed an accredited nursing program within one year without obtaining RN or LPN licensure.
