Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center seeks a SNAP (Student Nurse) Ortho to assist with safe, competent basic nursing care under RN supervision. This part-time night position supports the healthcare team and emphasizes patient-centered care in a busy acute-care setting.

Qualified applicants are enrolled in an accredited RN program (ASN/BSN) and have current BLS certification; concurrent enrollment in RN program or awaiting NCLEX is required. Prior CNA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completed the first semester at an accredited Nursing school (ASN or BSN program).
• Current American Heart Association BLS required at time of hire.
• Concurrent enrollment in a RN Nursing program or a graduate waiting initial NCLEX.
• Recommendation from a School of Nursing Instructor.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment.
• Prior CNA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the healthcare team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills.
• Proven work history of excellent customer service skills required.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Overview

Assists the unit with providing safe, competent basic nursing care for patients in accordance with approved competencies, facility policies/practices, standards, philosophy under the direction of an RN. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care.
