Job summary

Ascension Health in Baltimore, MD invites you to join Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital as a Nurse Aide in the Float Pool. This PRN, rotating schedule role focuses on compassionate patient care under RN supervision, maintaining comfort and dignity across units.

You will monitor vitals, document observations for the clinical team, support diagnostics preparation, and help ensure a clean, safe healing environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Nurse Aide certification required prior to hire.
• High school diploma or GED required; must enroll in Nursing program within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Maryland Board of Nursing CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, direct patient care under RN supervision, ensuring daily needs and comfort are met.
• Monitor and track vital signs and patient responses to provide real-time data for safe interventions.
• Document the patient’s journey and clinical observations accurately to maintain high-quality medical records.
• Collaborate with your preceptor to refine care plans using frontline observations to shape outcomes.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including preparing/transporting patients for diagnostics and supporting a clean, safe healing environment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED required. Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Successful completion of first semester of RN curriculum
• Maryland Board of Nursing CNA certification required
• Commitment of 60 hours minimum (5-6 shifts) per semester based on intern’s availability
