Job summary

Kaweah Health seeks a Student Nurse Intern to support bedside care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will participate in care planning with the RN and involve patients in decisions about their care and delivery of services.

Responsibilities include maintaining a validated Skills Checklist, performing delegated duties after validation, and assisting with bedside tasks while upholding confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• Preferred: CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Enrolled RN students in accredited program (ASN 3rd semester or BSN 4th semester).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the patient/resident, family, and other health care providers.
• In conjunction with the RN, formulates the plan of care and involves patient/residents in decisions related to care.
• The Student Nurse Intern's practice is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics.
• Responsible for having a validated Skills Checklist available at all times while working as a SNI.
• May perform duties only after their skills have been validated by the school of Nursing in conjunction with the KH RN preceptor.
• SNIs are directly responsible to the RN for performing basic bedside care and selected nursing procedures.
